It is in bloom from late spring through the summer. This plant is classified as a branched perennial. It ranges from 2' to 6' high. It is a member of the Parsley family.
The leaves are carrot-like, but more like an equilateral triangle with many divisions. They are ill-scented when bruised. The base of the leaves are enlarged with sheathing around the stem. The stem is smooth, hollow and purple spotted. The flowers are small, white, and in umbels.
