They are in bloom during the summer and fall months, and range in height from 1' to 4'. They may be biennials or perennials. Chicory is a member of the Composite family.
The leaves are toothed, lobed, or entire and the branches are stalkless. The daisy-like flowers of a chicory are blue, occasionally white, with squared, toothed tips.
